The History of Sooner Copy Machines

John Miller's career started in the office equipment industry when he was 15 years old, working for his father. He started as a grunt worker, chemically cleaning liquid Savin copier toner and dispersant tanks. He was later promoted to sweeping the floors and cleaning the office. He then was added to the typewriter cleaning crew that drove around to most High School typing classrooms in southeast Oklahoma. John helped chemically clean and repair the IBM Selectric I, II and III typewriters during the summer months, traveling all over the state of Oklahoma. After getting his driver's license, he then was promoted to a delivery person. This job description included driving to schools all over the state delivering toner, dispersant and copy paper for their copiers. After graduating high school in Antlers, Oklahoma, John Miller attended the University of Oklahoma for four years, majoring in Business Management and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.

John Miller then returned to work for his father's office equipment dealership as a computer data entry accounting assistant. He then was promoted to an outside sales representative and given a sales territory. John quickly set company sales records for a new sales representative and established numerous new accounts. He then was promoted to starting new copier dealerships for his father's company in Ada and Ardmore, Oklahoma. Around ten years later, after dominating these markets, John Miller had a chance to separate from his father's company and start his own copier dealership in Norman, Oklahoma named Sooner Copy Machines. John started SCM with zero customers and zero employees. After 11 years of exceptional growth and incredible success, John Miller and Sooner Copy Machines have grown to be one of the largest copier dealerships in the state.

John Miller now owns three different copier dealerships with six different locations and over 40 employees throughout Oklahoma. John and Sooner Copy Machines have won an unprecedented six consecutive sales awards signifying annual purchases of 1 million dollars of copiers, toner, parts, and software. To our knowledge this has never been accomplished in Oklahoma before.
